THE BIGGER PICTURE
Simons arrives from Leipzig after a two-year spell in Germany, initially on loan before his deal was made permanent in January. He made 78 appearances for the Bundesliga club, scoring 22 goals and registering 24 assists. A 22-year-old prospect, he aligns with Spurs' recruitment policy and also answers their call for a James Maddison replacement, given his season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury.
